Dentures that stay put and let you eat again

If eating has become difficult and you find yourself avoiding foods you like, there is an easier and more comfortable solution than the dentures most people picture. Dental technology has moved well past the loose plate in a glass by the bed.

Your options

From traditional to fully implant-secured

Traditional dentures

The original removable option. They still serve a purpose but tend to shift, and many patients hold them in place with their cheek or tongue.

Snap-on dentures

Two to four implants per arch that the denture clips onto. Far more stable, removed nightly for cleaning. A transformation compared to traditional plates.

Implant dentures (fixed)

A full set of teeth secured to implants that never comes out. See our Denture Implants page for the fixed option.

How snap-on dentures work

Implants do the holding, not your jaw muscles

Once any non-viable teeth are removed, several implants are placed into the jaw, commonly two in the lower jaw and four in the upper. The denture attaches securely to those implants. Compared with a traditional plate the difference in chewing power and confidence is dramatic, and most foods can be eaten reliably.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Can I convert my existing dentures to snap-on?
Often yes. The specialist will assess whether your current denture can be retrofitted or whether a new one will give a better result.
How many implants do snap-on dentures need?
Usually two in the lower arch and four in the upper, though it varies with your bone. Your 3D CT scan settles the number.
