Routine vs. deep cleaning
The right cleaning for where your gums are
Routine cleaning
For healthy gums: removes plaque and tartar above and just below the gumline, twice a year.
Deep cleaning
Scaling and root planing for gums showing early disease, removing bacteria from deeper pockets before bone is lost.
Frequently asked questions
Your questions, answered
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
Every six months for healthy gums. If you have a history of gum disease, the team may recommend a shorter interval.
Why was I told I need a deep cleaning?
It means there is tartar and bacteria below the gumline and early signs of gum disease. Addressing it now is far simpler than treating advanced disease later.
